Don't Toss Your Ink Cartridges & Cell Phones!

Read the following letter:

Hi there!
Did you know that the improper disposal of one cell phone can pollute up to 132,000 liters of water? It's true. Improper disposal of ink cartridges can also harm the environment.

So, what is your average person to do? Well, donate your old cell phone and ink cartridge, of course. I don't know about you, but I've got 2 old cellphones in my mother's basement. I'm sure I've got one hanging around my house somewhere, too. And forget about the ink cartridges-- I just throw those out whenever I'm through. Oops.

Well, Teen Trend Magazine is now holding its very first "Phone-Raiser". We don't want cash. We don't want checks. We want your old phones and ink cartridges. Just erase all of the information from those old cell phones, put your ink cartridge in a bag and send it to:

Teen Trend Magazine Phone-Raiser
PO Box 567
Middle Island, NY 11953

Old phones and ink cartridges will be refurbished and donated to women's shelters and other organizations. If the phones or cartridges can't be refurbished, they will be dismantled and recycled according to EPA Standards.

If you include a note with your return address, you will receive a Tax Deduction Receipt, which you can use for your 2008 taxes.

So, there you have it. You are saving the environment, helping a terrific cause AND getting a tax deduction. What more could you ask for?
Please help us collect as many cell phones and ink cartridges as possible. Thanks so much for your help.
Sincerely,
Candice Cain
